SPARTA is actually an acronym. It stands for Specialty Programs and Risk Transfer Alternative. It’s a mouthful, and that’s why they’re simply called SPARTA. Known for their clever logo, featuring an S made to look like a classic Spartan’s helmet, SPARTA have become an iconic piece of the insurance landscape in only a few short years.

What They Do

Not to Be Confused With…

SPARTA is a company that primarily sells products and services to other insurance companies, although they do provide insurance policies of their own and they even offer policies from other companies in an underwriting capacity. However, there is another company, called Spartan, that primarily sells in basic auto insurance needs.

Spartan is based out of Texas where they offer competitive rates and hold an AM Best rating of B, or fair. This puts them at between $2 and $5 million a year in terms of generated revenue, lending them a size category rating of III.

Where SPARTA offers insurance products to all 50 states, Spartan is focused strictly on offering auto insurance to drivers in the state of Texas. They also provide policies covering rental reimbursement, towing and labor, medical payments, and underinsured and personal injury protection, to name a few.

Add this to the hefty discounts the company offers for multi car policies, students, alarm systems and air bags, and you have a fairly reliable auto insurance company, but again, an entirely separate company from SPARTA Insurance.
